With the Canada Day Long Weekend in full effect, we’ve found ourselves with a bit of time before the summer swings into full gear with a bevy of club nights, community events, festivals and other events in GVRD. For some of us, June can act like the calm before the storm when we put our heads down and don’t come up for air (or take our headphones off) until the end of September.
That being said, here are some key dates where you can find us over the next few months and some valuable links if you’re looking to book any production or entertainment services in the near future.
Saturday June 29th, 2019
JT James is at the Roxy Cabaret in Vancouver alongside a plethora of talented acts providing a solid 9 hours of entertainment. Saturday’s at the Roxy have been one of the best ongoing parties in Vancouver since 1988. Seriously. With over 30 years in the game, you learn a thing or two about how to throw down. Doors open at 6pm for the Pub Crawl crowd, followed by an urban showcase featuring El Nino, Ryu Darko and Young Friend. After that JT and legendary house band Fully Loaded take over and trade off sets until 3am.
Sunday June 30th, 2019
If you love house music and you can find a ticket, I would highly suggest hopping aboard the Abitibi for the legendary Siesta Boat Cruise. These cats have been throwing amazing boat parties for 20 years. This weekend featuring a couple incredible selectors, Neighbour and Hebegebe. Bring your dancing shoes, some sunblock and a well-rested liver.
Saturday July 6th, 2019
Hastings Sunrise Community Days are a great place to bring the family, running from 10am to 4pm behind the London Drugs on Hastings Street in East Vancouver between Penticton Street and Kamloops. JT will be on the decks, as well as some live acts doing their thing, lots of tasty treats and a ball hockey tournament for the kids.
